this post brings me so much delight for many reasons…
my first post on my new blog (which is still in creating process)
my first wedding at the blue dress barn (if i could shoot all my weddings there i’d be a happy camper!)
and lisa and bart…a couple who i am so endeared to!!!
the blue dress barn is full of rustic charm…kelly braman (my amazing second shooter for the day) and i were giddy over all the details and hidden treasures on this property.

Bart plays rugby…the kind where people get broken noses, have to wear neck braces and get gouges on their foreheads!!! But despite this rough sport he has a super sweet heart!

I think all of my brides are beautiful…they all have a glow about them. But I’ll be honest that Lisa looked so stunning I teared up. Her hair, makeup were perfection and her dress fit her in all the right places.

a little mustache love…

When I met Lisa and Bart for their engagement session I quickly realized that this was one sassy and funny couple. And I knew that their wedding day was going to be a memorable one…It was a beautiful blend of their fun-loving personalities and their tender love for each other. I know that when life gets messy their laughter will carry them through.

When it was time to wrap up and say goodnight to the happy couple, both Lisa and I had tears in our eyes. In the weeks after Mike passed away Lisa sent me probably the most meaningful card, that spoke so well to my loss. In that moment she was no longer just a client but my friend. Lisa and Bart stepped into my story, at a time when it was hard and messy. I knew that I had to be a part of their wedding day. And I guess that’s what our tears were about…celebrating their wedding day and recognizing the loss I have endured. Again this is why I take such joy out of my job…cause it’s not a job for me but it’s about relationships and our stories. It’s always my hope to use my art to capture pieces of your story.
So thank you Lisa and Bart for your friendship…it’s was a delight to be a part of your wedding!
