I was literally in the room when my sweet niece brei arrived into the world…and since then i’ve been smitten with her. since she’s the only girl amongst three brothers she’s part girly, part sassy! Each year I buy her a fun new dress and we do a photo shoot to celebrate her birthday…No apologies here for being biased, she’s the cutest!

and one last shot of brei with her mom…my sis-in-law thought she never wanted a girl but brei has stolen her heart!

i’m smitten.

these two little boys were so charming, sweet, with just a hint of trouble. i’ll admit that doing children’s portraits is an interesting challenge for me. taking direction and sitting still don’t even register for kids under 6 years old. but i love the energy and playfulness!

fall is made for love. soft, warm sunlight. jewel-toned leaves floating down. a crisp breeze that makes you want to snuggle.

austin and amy let me capture pieces of their story…from their dating days spent in the library to their playful competition on the lacrosse field. i can’t wait to be a part of this couples wedding celebration!

my final wedding of the season had all the right elements for a great day…sweet couple who really adore each other, fun location (downtown Grand Rapids Van Andel museum), beautiful fall colors, and my friend Alexis of StudioXplore second shooting with me.

brooke has the most piercing blue eyes..just love how brides glow on their wedding days.

I have one word for Jessica and Jeff…rockstars!!! After a few attempts to schedule their engagement session we decided to embrace the unpredictable Michigan weather and ventured out on a very cold night. But you wouldn’t even be able to tell how wet and frigid they were from their pictures. All I see is laughter, warmth, and love. Can’t wait for their wedding celebration next summer at the Blue Dress Barn!

I truly believe that a marriage isn’t just about a guy and a girl, but it’s also about the family and friends that are there to celebrate and support a new relationship. Michael and Michelle have family and friends in abundance…And by the end of the day I was wishing I could be adopted into this amazing group of people!

Their wedding celebration took place in Saint Clair Shores, MI. The guys started the day at Trim, a cool and swanky barber house, for some straight shaves. The ladies put on their finishing touches at Michelle’s childhood home. One of my favorite moments of the day was when all the grandkids had an impromptu dance party in the living room singing “Going to the Chapel”. From there the rest of the day was close to being picture perfect…

Due to a personal conflict I was unable to be present at Becca and Dan’s wedding celebration, so my amazing friend and talented photographer Kelly Braman helped me out and captured their beautiful day…While this couple makes their home in Chicago (where we did their engagement session) they celebrated their wedding in Saint Joseph.
